Here we will show you how to make a simple glove box out of a cardboard box and a small piece of glass or plastic and a pair of inexpensive dish washing gloves.

With the help of a glove box you can start to reduce airborn contamination risks and learn basics of sterile technique.
The glovebox in the photo started life as a 24" cube moving box. a large portion of the top was removed and a piece of glass with weather stripping was placed over it. This opening is used to place things in or out of the box. Two holes were also cut in one side to fasten a pair of gloves. The gloves were everyday dishwashing gloves. They work but after some use they do break loose from the box, but are easily replaced.
The white circles are actually filter disks which I found to be a waste of time and money for this application.
Inside the box you can see an ionizer. If memory serves this one cost around $35 and was not really needed.
Also inside the box out of view is an alcohol lamp. This was used to flame sterilize a scalple for culture transfers. CAUTION: The use of an alcohol lamp in this box can be a HAZZARD. It will also heat up the inside of this box very quickly. If you choose to use a lamp like this only keep it lite for as short a time as you can.
Larger box = larger glovebox
